Specializing in Non-Invasive Knee Pain Relief
Knee injuries or pain may not always need surgical intervention. Joint Regeneration has managed patients knee pain successfully using non-surgical therapy. If you’ve been advised to consider knee replacement surgery, reach out to the team at Joint Regeneration to learn more about your alternatives. Roughly one-third of knee replacement procedures performed in the United States are not beneficial or essential for the patient. A botched surgery can lead to more time away from work and family, as well as pain that can be nagging and persistent.
Our clinic provides non-surgical alternatives to address knee pain at its source, and we’ve helped thousands of people avoid the complications of knee replacement surgery by assisting them in getting out of pain and returning to a more active, healthy, and happy lifestyle. Clinical knee pain caused by degenerative joint disease and osteoarthritis is one of the most common health conditions in America today, with tens of millions of Americans suffering from this debilitating condition. Traditionally, surgeries and prescription drugs are believed to be the only permanent solutions available for chronic knee pain, namely a TKR, or total knee replacement. Our team at Joint Regeneration is here to say that this is not the case! Speaking on TKRs, it should be noted that this is a permanent solution, one that cannot be easily corrected if problems ensue with this operation. That’s why patients should always explore pre-surgical solutions and exhaust all options before making this permanent, and often expensive, decision.

No, absolutely not. All treatment solutions offered at Joint Regeneration are fully non-surgical and do not involve the use of opioids.
We realize how important your time is. We work hard to ensure that we are organized, and all our systems are followed. Sometimes there are just some setbacks that we do not have control over, but overall, the total time for the HA injections for the knee, which includes check in, updated information and vitals check, arthrogram and the HA injection is about 30 minutes. Most patients can be in and out during the time it takes for a lunch break and actually, the injection itself takes less than a minute.
Hyaluronic (pronounced hi-ah-lew-ron-ic) acid, or HA— also known as hyaluronan or hyaluronate — is a gooey, slippery substance that your body produces naturally. Scientists have found hyaluronic acid throughout the body, especially in eyes, joints and skin. Hyaluronic acid is a remarkable substance because of all the benefits and uses it has in your body. Here are just a few of the benefits of hyaluronic acid:
- It helps things move smoothly. Hyaluronic acid helps your joints work like a well-oiled machine. It prevents pain and injury from bones grinding against each other.
- It helps keep things hydrated. Hyaluronic acid is very good at retaining water. A quarter teaspoon of hyaluronic acid holds about one and a half gallons of water. That’s why hyaluronic acid is often used for treating dry eyes. It’s also used in moisturizing creams, lotions, ointments, and serums.
- It makes your skin flexible. Hyaluronic acid helps skin stretch and flex and reduces skin wrinkles and lines. Hyaluronic acid is also proven to help wounds heal faster and can reduce scarring.
That depends upon your insurance carrier. Our highly successful protocol which has produced success rates of over 92%, calls for 5 HA injections which Medicare and other commercial insurance companies will approve. On the other hand, some insurance companies will approve less than 5 HA injections. In that case we can discuss your options.
Are there any adverse reactions?
- As with any injection, there may be slight swelling, bleeding, or bruising at the site.
- Hyaluronic Acid is so safe that it is used as a placebo in diabetic patients.
There are many variables that play into this question; The severity of your osteoarthritis, your age, your general health, your flexibility, your body’s ability to produce HA, etc. Generally, relief lasts from 6 months up to 2 years or more following treatment, again, depending upon the severity of your condition and other variables. If necessary, this procedure can be performed again 6 months later for added benefit and longer lasting effects. Medicare and most commercial insurance companies allow this procedure to be performed every 6 months. Hyaluronic Acid, being natural, has shown in theory to also teach your body to generate more synovial fluid. After the procedure is complete, you may experience further decreased pain and increased range of motion.
Yes. Medicare and most commercial insurances do cover this treatment and provide coverage for repeat treatments every 6 months if necessary.
Yes. If you’ve had your knee(s) only partially replaced, this can still work. If you’ve had a full knee replacement, this will not work for you.
Yes. If you have osteoarthritis of the knee, this can work for you. If our X-rays determine that there is no osteoarthritis, one of our other regenerative treatments would be a better fit. We offer treatments specific to repairing meniscus tears as well. Each patient is different and the best options for you will be discussed during your consultation.
